Some of Christmas and San Antonio!!!

There is a little bit of a gap in our posts because pictures from the couple weeks up to Christmas are on a different data card that Mommy couldn't find.

We'll start with the week of Christmas. I got a cold 2 weeks before Christmas and missed the Monday and Tuesday of school. I went back for the rest of the week and was better. Then we had G&G Hyland's Christmas on Saturday and I wasn't quite myself and then Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, I got that same cold back again. I barely moved from this chair on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday I was doing better but still didn't have a lot of energy so I missed the 2 days of school before Christmas. You could tell I didn't feel very well though because I didn't even really care that I was missing the school party.

Here is Sam Christmas Eve getting the cookies and milk ready for Santa!!

Next up was G&G Rikli's for dinner before coming back home to do presents and see if Santa came while we were gone!

Sam is checking out the desserts...

I was relaxing with Grandpa...

Back at home...Santa came!!!

Stockings...

I got Trap Team!!! Sam got the Power Rangers mask he was asking for!

Here is the candy cane striped Power Ranger.

Daddy got a cool knife and wood display that Grandpa Rikli made.

Sam likes his new little vet clinic...

We played with our presents on Christmas, and then it was time to go to the airport to go to San Antonio! We were really sad because G&G Hyland both got sick and couldn't come on the trip. We still had fun, but all of us kept commenting throughout the week how we missed them.

Here we are riding our Trunki's through the Milwaukee airport. It wasn't super busy since it was Christmas.

Sam saw some planes flying in and out...

On the plane!

Sam had to make a call before we took off...Not sure what is says about Sam, but on every flight (all 4), there was always an open seat next to Sam. Hmmm...

Sam had trouble on the flight from Atlanta to San Antonio. Our flight got delayed an hour so it was almost 10:30pm before we left Atlanta. He woke up about 10 minutes before we got into San Antonio and hit his ear on something and just started bawling and didn't stop. He then threw up (poor Daddy was sitting next to him as all of this happened). We got off the plane and he went through phases of crying as we went to go get the luggage.  There was another little girl going through pretty much the same thing as Sam and there were about 5 other bawling kids that we heard just on that flight so it wasn't an easy timeframe for any of them. I did really well during the flights though and was happy to be in Texas. We went right to our hotel when we got to San Antonio and got some sleep. We all slept in the next day and then were ready to head to Great Aunt Mary's!

They had some presents for us (along with some from G&G Hyland that they had sent there for us).

We got Big Wheels to use!!!

Sam really enjoyed building gates for his little puppies.

Outside with just a light jacket! Wonderful!!

It was about 70 degrees the first day we were there. We took advantage of it and went to the park.

I spent most of my time on this merry go round.

I got pretty confident on it!

Tracy helped me put together my Lego set. We both loved Tracy! We only got to see her for about 5 minutes when we were in Texas 2 years ago so it was so nice to get to see her more this trip.

Sam and I spent a lot of time walking Muffy. Great Aunt Mary ended up having to set a timer because we both wanted to walk him at the same time.

A new aquarium opened just down the road from Great Aunt Mary's house so we went to check it out with Judd and Tracy. It used to be a car dealership where Judd used to work so it was fun for him to see how they changed it. They had a few dinosaurs that moved and made sounds. I was nervous to put my back to him, so Judd volunteered to stand behind me. Then I was fine with it!

We got to dig some dinosaur bones. Sam really liked the brushes.

That night we went to Peter Piper's Pizza which is a lot like Chuck E Cheese.

Sam LOVED this digger. He spent a lot of time on it.

I played lots of different games. I was with Daddy most of the time so Mommy didn't get a lot of pictures of me playing games.

Sam had to ride the motorcycle!

Photo bomb!

Sam and I played a fishing game and Sam speared the magical jelly fish, which meant that he got 200 tickets! He really didn't care all that much :)

The next day we went to the Children's Museum and Riverwalk.

Sam was not used to having to wait his turn to play with stuff so he struggled at the beginning. The Children's Museum was pretty busy.

I did a great job milking the cow. I am from Wisconsin!!

They had a neat place where you could pull a bubble up over your body. I got it about to my tummy before it popped.

Sam really enjoyed playing in the sand.

They had a digger you could "drive". Sam got all his gear on and took a couple turns on it.

Here I am at the drive through bank getting Mommy some money.

Sam really enjoyed the car track.

After the museum we walked down to the Riverwalk. We didn't walk as far as Mommy or Daddy would have liked, but we got to see it at least!

Here we are in the hotel room one morning waiting for Daddy to wake up.

The next day it was another beautiful day so we decided to go to the Zoo and Kiddie Park. The zoo is really big so we decided to rent a wagon. Mommy and Daddy call me Josefina when I get whiny, and they didn't want to hear Josefina at the zoo.

Sam rode in the wagon at the beginning and the end but spent a lot of time in the middle helping Daddy push the wagon.

We went on the carousel. Sam was on a gorilla and I was on a dragon on the opposite side so Mommy didn't get a picture of me. She got this Mommy and Sam selfie though.

Daddy took us on a wild ride to go return the wagon at the end of our visit.

We tried for a picture on the lions, and we got a decent picture. Mommy needs to zoom it in a little to cut out the other people though :)

After the zoo we went to Kiddie Park, which was around when Amanda and Judd were little. We had great fun going on some rides.

I was in the yellow car on the ferris wheel. There was another boy with me and I talked up a storm to him.

Sam chose to ride in the fire truck 2 times in a row!

This ride started out well, but didn't end so well. Sam got scared when it went up high in the air and started crying.

Here is a glimpse of the crying...

we headed back to Great Aunt Mary's and Sam and I got to stay with Great Aunt Mary and Great Grandma while Mommy and Daddy went out to supper with Judd and Tracy.

Our last full day in San Antonio, we went to the Mexican Market. Great Grandma gave us each $5 to spend, and both of us chose a red sword. We were pretty happy with our purchases :)

As we were leaving we got to watch a street performer doing a magic show. I really enjoyed that and got to cut the rope that he had with my fingers.

After the Mexican Market, we made a stop at Rudy's for some BBQ. This is Daddy's favorite place.  We took some pictures to show Grandpa Rikli and Sam and I had to be silly!

Tuesday afternoon we played outside a little bit even though it was kind of "cold" (about 45 degrees).  I climbed the tree in Aunt Mary's backyard.

Sam took his Big Wheel to the grocery store and to shoot some deer.

We had a great time! Our flight left Wednesday morning at 6:05 so we got up at 4am. We were a little worried because Sam got upset when he first woke up, but he snapped out of it and we had 2 flights that were both on time and went well. We got to Milwaukee by about 10am and ate some lunch and were home by a little after noon. We got home to a temperature of 3 degrees!
