Grandparent Camp!

Sam and I got to go to Grandparent Camp this past weekend. Normally it would just be Grandma & Grandpa taking us, but we were worried about Sam being able to stay without Mom or Dad so Mommy came with us.

Here we are Friday night in our room. We definitely weren't roughing it! It was great, we had an adjoining room with G&G Hyland.

We spent quite a bit of time on this playset. Pine Lake is such a great place!

Where we had worship twice on Saturday and once on Sunday.

Sam getting to work on the beach. Saturday was a BEAUTIFUL day! Sam spent a lot of his free time on the beach. I was on the beach too, but I also did archery.

Mommy took me, Sam and Grandma out in the paddle boat. There was about a foot of water in each side and I decided not to help pedal, so we didn't go very far or very fast! Mom took just Sam out in the afternoon (after the water had been dumped out), and they made it much farther out!

I participated in the beach carnival in the afternoon. This was the life jacket relay.

We had to fill up a canoe with water while 3 people were sitting in it!

Sam and Mommy went to meet some animals at the Nature Center. This is Moshi the salamander. Sam got to touch it, and then the salamander promptly jumped in his lap. Sam informed everyone afterward that the salamander bit him. Sam can be a bit of a tall tale teller!

I showed up partway through from doing archery and got to hold the box turtle.

I liked playing tetherball. I kind of made up my own rules, but Grandma seemed ok with following them!

I got to help play the bells at one of the worships. I did a great job!

Sam got to help also. It started out well, and then kind of went downhill.

He didn't really like all the attention.

Grandpa played with several other grandpas.

Yummy, smores!!

We played card bingo Saturday night. Sam didn't have a lot of interest so he and Mommy left to go to the playset. I LOVED card bingo. It got me all excited for everyone at the table, and I was just SOOO excited the rest of the night.

Sam had fun playing with Ethan.

I went on the night walk with Grandma and Grandpa. (Mom put Sam to bed while we were gone.)

We walked quite a ways and played bat and moth. I was the moth for awhile and escaped the bat and didn't get eaten!

Sunday was a little rainy, but we still got in some baseball.

I played the triangle at worship.

Sam and I got to pick a companion to be with us for the weekend. Here I am with the bear I chose, Kicks!

Sam chose a bear with a little red heart. He called him Sam bear or Joey bear depending on when you asked him!

We both had a wonderful time, and want to go back! I said on Friday after we had been at camp for about 2 hours that I want to go again next year. Sam did great on Friday/Saturday but Sunday he was really tired and spent most of the morning whining/crying. He had a nap on the way back home in the car and was much better Sunday night. Mommy was the only Mom at camp, but she was so glad she got to go and experience camp again. It had been over 20 years since she had last been to camp :)

Thanks so much G&G Hyland for taking us!

Fun, fun weekend!

Sam and I had a great weekend again! Saturday we went to Strawberry Fest, and I went to Zaharia's birthday party at the bowling alley. Sunday we went to the Mallards game for Father's Day and then had a water balloon fight when we got home.

Here I am driving the wienermobile. They had a virtual experience you could do in their booth. My kind of thing!

Mr Peanut was there with his Nut mobile (not sure if that is what it is called). Cool to see that since we've never seen that before!

It was raining a bit when we got to Strawberry Fest, but that didn't stop us from going on the bouncy houses!

We had strawberry sundaes or strawberry shortcake, and Sam dumped his on the ground. Oh, the memories!

We did the Mallards game with Mommy's work, and as part of the ticket deal you got to eat and drink all you wanted for 1 1/2 hours before the game. Sam moved his stuff to go sit by Uncle Jay. Landon came to the game with his Dad and Char, so I got to go zip lining with him and catch up. I hadn't seen Landon for quite awhile!

Char got us duck calls. Needless to say, we all LOVED those!

It was HOT. It was about 84 degrees when we were watching the game. Here's the "Guy" section.

Sam had to check out the sandbox of course. He didn't seem as into this year as he did last year, but it might have been because it was so hot. Hopefully we'll get to a cooler game yet this year and see what happens!

Mommy had me stand by this statue and as she was getting ready to take my picture, Millie came over to be with me! Oh, and a random kid too!

We made it through the whole game for the first time! Sam was probably in the game for almost 4 innings, so we are making progress :)

This is back to Strawberry Fest, but Mommy had to include our picture with the Wienermobile!

Last day of school, Sassy Cow and Concert in the Park!

Last day of Kindergarten! I had a great year and a great teacher!

Last weekend we went to Sassy Cow for their annual customer day. We hadn't gone for 2 years so it was fun to go again.

We got milk mustaches. I loved mine, but Sam wasn't too sure about his.

Sam loved the two tractors to climb on and the pedal tractors.

I liked the pedal tractors too, but I was more thrilled with the bean bag toss.

We got to see a couple baby goats and a baby cow.

We babysat Bell one day last weekend, and Sam had to take over her house.

We went to Concerts in the Park for the first time in Sun Prairie and had a blast!

We got our faces/hands painted...

We got balloon "animals". I loved my zombie hat that the guy made for me. Unfortunately his head popped when we got home, and I was Sooo upset! Mom got quite a few pictures of me with him. Sam got a red puppy, and Mom has to try to get a better picture of him with it. The only one she could get he was moving too much.

Eating supper and listening to The Soggy Prairie Boys.

What a great time!!

Field Day, Big Rig Gig and Noah's Ark

We are coming up on the end of the school year. This week is my last week, and I am done at 11:30 on Thursday! Last week we had the Field Day where we did activities outside. Daddy got to come and help and his job was to teach us how to play four square. He was pretty busy so he didn't get many pictures of me, but he got a couple of me getting ready to get started!

Sunday, we split up and Dad and I went to Noah's Ark while Sam and Mom went to a Big Rig Gig in Waunakee. Dad and I didn't take the camera since there was a threat of storms, but we ended up not getting wet at all (other than from the water park of course)! Our day at Noah's Ark was fun. I was a little disappointed that the 4D movie was pretty scary (it had dinosaurs, which are pretty freaky in 3D) and I got scraped up a bit in the wave pool, but Dad and I got to go on lots of rides since the park was pretty empty and I had Dad all to myself!!

Mom and Sam had a fun time too. Sam really enjoyed trying out all the trucks...

It was hard to get Sam out of this one. It had foot pedals with a handle that he could operate, and it was up high. Sam was in Heaven!

He enjoyed the police car more than Mommy thought he would. He is usually more into construction vehicles, but the police car has lots of cool gadgets to look at.

Being kind of silly since Mommy told him this is where the naughty people have to sit!

They got to look in the Med Flight helicopter and watch it take off.

Sam was very pleased that this bucket was dirty. It had been working!

Can you see Sam through the front window?!

Daddy asked Sam what his favorite vehicle was, and he said the fire truck, the front end loader, the police car, the excavator, the helicopter... We think he liked them all!!

Waunakee did an awesome job putting this on! It was a free event and the kids got a hat and popcorn and lemonade, and of course seeing all kinds of cool vehicles!
