Summer 2018: Second Half

The boys wanted to go to the Madison Children's Museum so we went. They had a lot of fun, and I hadn't been there in a few years so it was nice to go back.

They had to do the giant hamster wheel...

Playing an old video game...

We had fun on the roof checking out the views.

A visit to Monroe's library doesn't seem to be complete without Sam dressing up :)

We went to a fundraiser for Sun Prairie Strong, and the boys got their faces painted.

Then we went to Little Amerricka so they got to ride the rides as a puppy and Spiderman.

The boys love it when Linus crawls all over them. (Joey made the shirt he is wearing at the end of summer school)

Grandma and Grandpa Rikli came over for another pool party this summer to celebrate Grandma's birthday. This time they did water balloons in the pool. John got in on the action!

Joey warming up from the pool with Bell.

We made a second trip to Little Amerricka with Grandma and Grandpa Hyland. We had to get in some mini golf!

The boys are pretty much out of the little kids area, but they both still like driving these boats.

We celebrated John's birthday. There was a giant rainstorm on our way home from Little Amerricka and that night. The cake almost came home soggy. Sun Prairie was lucky and only got a few inches of rain. The West side of Madison got over 11 inches.

John has been doing a lot of hiking gearing up for his trip out West. We went with him one night. Sam has to steal the trekking poles!

Joey giving them a try now...

We closed out the summer with our family vacation. I'll do a separate entry for that!

Summer 2018: First Half

Summer is off to a good start!

Maebel, Linus and Jay came to visit us and play outside to enjoy the nice weather...

It wasn't technically summer yet so we were finishing out the school year. Here is Sam's Kindergarten music performance. That afternoon when he got home from school he threw up and ended up taking a nap. We think he had a mild case of food poisoning because he woke up from the nap and was fine. He ate a normal supper and everything!

We started finding Bucky's! This is one of the ones in Sun Prairie...

The boys had their fun run. Here is Joey's class picture. Not sure why Joey is facing the wrong way!

Here is Sam's class picture...

Playing at the boys' school on the weekend...

Linus turned 1! He had a great time with his cake :)

Sam helped him open presents. Linus wasn't super interested in that part...

Sam's field trip to the zoo!

I had Sam and Amaya in my group.

We went downtown Madison to find some more Bucky's!

Grandpa brought the four wheeler over and John gave all of us rides around the yard!

A wild game of spoons!

We went tent camping for the first time with Cub Scouts. The boys loved this chair made out of a tree.

We got to climb up some narrow steps to a cave

We stayed at Wyalusing State Park so we got to see where the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers meet. We also got to go to a presentation on astronomy and look at some planets and stars with big telescopes.

Grandparent Camp was a blast again this year!

First stop was Gaga Ball. The boys were pretty much just as crazy about it this year as they were last year.

Sam and his friend Carsen.

Joey did a nice job reading the scripture...

Their friends for the weekend. Joey had Kicks and Sam had a Wisconsin bear.

Linus was doing some silly tricks...

The first Concert in the park in Sun Prairie. Sam got a dog to walk. I didn't get many pictures!

Joey was being silly and was under these animals making them move. Sam was laughing so hard!

We celebrated Grandpa's birthday.

We've been enjoying the pool. We found this killer whale at a garage sale, and it's provided fun and amusement trying to stay on it!

Jody and Aedan got married! It was a super hot day, but we all had a good time!

4th of July was super hot too. The boys showed Maebel the games and had fun.

It's been great having a hot summer so far because we have used the pool quite a bit!
