Open House!

Wednesday night was my school open house. I had a great time showing Mommy and Daddy around. Sam found the kitchen, and I didn't need to show him anything other than that!

Talking on the phone...

I think Sam just spotted the kitchen...

Saying hi to our school fish, Blueberry!

The kitchen!

Here I am pointing to my self portrait. It is way in the top row. Can you find it?

Fall is HERE!

We are enjoying the start to Fall.

These are a little out of order, but oh well!

This is Sam's latest pose...hands on his cheeks. He will do his laying down or just squatting down even.

We went to Bouncy Town on Mommy's birthday since it was rainy out. They had a new truck that Sam was a BIG fan of. He still didn't want to bounce :(

I, on the other hand, bounce and bounce and get very red!

Taking a little break...

This past weekend Mommy didn't get too many pictures, but we did have a good weekend. Friday night we got to celebrate Mommy's birthday with G&G Hyland and Uncle Jay and Aunt Amanda. Sam and I had so much fun chasing and hiding from Uncle Jay. It was a NOISY house!

Saturday, we went swimming in G&G's motel, then Mommy & Daddy went hunting. Yes, I did say Mommy, but she didn't really hunt. She watched and was the camera person. They saw 3 deer, but none came out in the open enough to shoot. They also heard some coyotes talking to each other as they were walking out of the woods. Mommy had never heard that before...talk about loud! While Mommy and Daddy were hunting, Sam and I went to Eugster's Farm with G&G. Mommy has to get some pictures from them. Sunday, I went to Sunday School and Sam and I each ran an errand with Mommy. Then we just played at home, outside and made cookies. This was the first time Sam was involved in making cookies, and he thought it was great! He takes after his Uncle though because all he wanted to do after they were mixed was eat the dough!

Here is the view from their tree stands...

Proof that Mommy was in the woods AND in a tree!

A rare look at Daddy in the woods.

Ok, this goes back to last weekend. We went to Lapacek's orchard in Poynette for the first time this year. Mommy learned that next time we need to allow more than one hour. Sam threw a fit when it was time to leave, but we had to leave to get back for my 4k picnic!

The annual picture by the door!

Sam wouldn't stand in front of the door, but we did get him in one with Grandma Rikli. We were so happy she could come with us!

Sam and I had fun with this little black kitten.

Sam loved Grandma Rikli's his apple. :)

We had a great time at my school picnic. Mommy only got a couple pictures because she was busy trying to wrangle the two of us since Daddy was hunting.

She got this cute picture of Sam. I was too busy being social and busy for her to get a picture of me!

End of summer :(

We had a great weekend before the end of summer. Saturday, we went to Monroe so that we could stay with G&G while Mommy and Daddy went on a bike ride in New Glarus. Hunting starts next weekend so this was the last chance for Mommy and Daddy to get out and do something for awhile!

First, we had to stop at Mommy's favorite, The Garden Deli. Sam and I REALLY like this place too. They have soup and ice cream...two of our favorites!

Sunday, our church had "Holy Hoopla" so Mommy and I went and attended the church service on a blanket and then I got to play some games after church. They had a bounce house!

It was a cooler day on Sunday so we went to the park. Sam was being very silly!

When we got home from the park, Matthew and Allie were outside so we played with them the rest of the afternoon. We hadn't seen them in a little while! Allie pushed Sam in his car :) Matthew and I were off busy playing superheroes.

Sam and Allie helped Mommy pick tomatoes in the garden. They are such good little helpers. Again, Matthew and I were still off playing superheroes.

It was a fun end to the summer!

Back to School!

Well, I am officially a 4K'er. Before we get to the first day of school, I got to go to a "sneak a peek" last week with Daddy.

Ready to go...all smiles!

At school! My 4K is in our church which is having a lot of construction done. More on that later.

Checking out the play areas...

I had to get a picture of Daddy at school too!

I'm pretty comfortable here already. It helps that this was the room I had Sunday School in for 2 years (but the toys were always covered up so now I get to see them!)

On to the official start of school. This was Sam's attitude that morning. Mr. "I'm too cool for school". He didn't want his picture taken with me, and he walked around with his hands in his pockets. He is a BIG fan though of the construction going on at my school/church. Mommy and Daddy figured they could just leave him outside and he would still be there when they came back to pick me up. HAHA!

Here I am ready to go!

At school with Daddy!

At school with Mommy! (I think I was getting a little sick of pictures!)

Sam got to spend some time with the little siblings in another room. Mommy and Daddy are a little nervous about Sam. He is going to be CLINGY when he goes to school! He did warm up a little bit, but only if Daddy wasn't more than 3 feet away from him.

I had a great first day at school and talked quite a bit about my day...starting with what we had for snack of course! We hope the whole year is this great!

Joey and Sam 'ism's

Mommy wanted me to document a few funny things Sam and I have said or done in the past few weeks. OK!

Conversations with Joey
Daddy: Joey, why are you having trouble listening? Are you mad at Mommy or Daddy?
Joey: I'm not mad at anyone. Sometimes my belly button gets loose, and it makes me cranky so I have to tighten it.

Joey: I have Hulk's blood in my feet.
Mommy: Really?
Joey: Yes, it's in my DNA.

Mommy: (we are riding bikes in the road) Joey, what do you do if one of the trucks at the neighbor's house starts to leave?
Joey: Retreat!

Conversations with Sam

Mommy: Sam, where is your tummy?
Sam: (pulls up shirt, points to tummy. Then puts shirt down, pulls it up again and yells) "boo"

Mommy: Sam, let's put some gas in your mower. (Mommy pretends to pour gas in).

Sam: goes and grabs two handfuls of grass and tries to stuff them in the little hole.

End of Summer!

Ok, I got a little behind, but I will catch you up! Summer is pretty much over for us. I don't start school until September 9th, but we are laying low this week to prepare me (hopefully) for getting up and being ready for school at 8:15am. Sam would have no trouble, but I have been sleeping till 8am the past few weeks! Mommy and Daddy say I need to teach Sam how to do that :)

Here we are on the last day of swimming lessons. Sam "passed", but we use that term loosely. See below pictures for why I say that.  I didn't pass, but I can't move to the next level until I am 6 so that was ok! I could do all the skills with help, but now I need to work on them independently.

Mommy and Sam with his "report card".

Here I am at the beginning of my class...

We got to play on the slides since it was the last day!

Sam made it about halfway through. He didn't want to go down the slides or play with toys. This is what he did instead...warmed up on Daddy and listened to music.

Our class played, "What time is it Mr. Fox?". I had never played and REALLY liked it. Look how I am standing the farthest back from all the classes. That fox idea kind of made me nervous!

Sam and I have 2 pools set up for swimming. Mommy calls this one the "hot tub". This is the only one Sam will go in, and I join him when I need to warm up from mine.

We went to a new Splash Park when Mommy was off work on Thursday afternoon. We had lots of fun...for about 10 minutes. Then we both got tired and cranky. It was a really cool splash park though, and the water was a bit warmer than the one in Middleton!

I got my Halloween costume for this year already! Costco had a bunch of superheroes, and I picked Captain America. Here's to hoping it is still in one piece by Halloween. I've been wearing it everyday multiple times for the 3 days I have had it.

Sam and I were dressed nice so Mommy tried to get a picture. Hmmm, I think you need to try harder Mommy. At least Sam's Nuk matches his shirt. Mommy didn't pick the best time to try to get Sam without a Nuk.

Am I handsome or what? Not sure what this face was all about :)

We had a Cookout with the Grandmas and Grandpas and Uncle Jay and Aunt Amanda. I got to play some board games.

Sam did some cooking when he woke up from his nap...

Belle was at the party, and Sam and I both just love her! She is such a cute little dog.

Monday we went to the park since it was nice and cool. Sam had to drive the vroom, vroom.

He liked these too! I was so busy running and "exploring" that Mommy couldn't get any good pictures of me!

Next week will be back to school pictures!
