Dane County Fair!

Last weekend, we went to the Dane County Fair. We were both excited to go!

First up was going on a ride. Mommy and Daddy thought that Sam would love the trucks to drive around a circle. They asked me to go with Sam and sit next to him....well, Sam being Sam had other ideas. He sat by himself in the yellow truck behind me.

I had a great time!

Sam wasn't too sure about it...

And then he was MAD! He screamed and cried almost the whole 2 minute ride. When he got off we asked what was wrong, and he said the wheel was broken. They had the steering wheels on tight so you couldn't turn them. In Sam's opinion, what good is a steering wheel if you can't turn it?!

I went on the jumping "ride" that I did last year. I still don't completely understand that I have to push off to jump and the ride doesn't do all the work for me.

We visited some animals. I really liked the pigs, and Sam said he liked the cows.

Sam and I both went on the inflatable slide. Sam LOVED it. He would run back around screaming to go again. Waiting in line was not really his strong suit though!

We got some food and sat down to watch the performers on the high wire.

Sam and I were both pretty captivated by it...

I picked popcorn for my food. I am half Hyland!

Jay and Amanda visit..and some misc.

Before we get to Jay and Amanda's visit, here are some random pictures from Mommy's phone...

Sam hanging out with Grandpa while I play super heroes with Grandma and Great Aunt Mary.

Look how tough we all are!

Grandpa took me on the lawnmower one of the last times I was there (and Sam again too). I got to "drive" it which I was very serious about.

This was in the car on the way to Mt. Olympus a couple weekends ago.

Daddy had to go to the doctor one afternoon so Mommy came home from work early and took us to the library for the program and then after supper took us to get our free ice cream cone at the coffee shop that I had won back at Halloween.

Blue ice cream for both me and Sam...I approve!

So does Sam!

Uncle Jay and Aunt Amanda came to visit on Saturday. Mommy and I went with them to the American Girl Sale (I did a really good job even though there wasn't anything there for me!) and then we met Sam and Daddy at the splash park for a picnic.

Here we are just playing at home...

Sam had no time for play...

Here I am waiting in line at the sale. Amanda let me play with her phone, which is much cooler than Mommy or Daddy's. I was pretty content doing that!

Splash park time!

Picture Overload!

We have been pretty busy over the last couple of weekends so you get a picture overload in this post!

We tried another new park in Sun Prairie! I think this one will become a new favorite for us. Sam and I both really liked the structures, and they had some different stuff.

Swings are always a hit with us!

Last Sunday afternoon, we got to go to Sophie's 4th birthday party! Can't believe Sophie is 4, it seems like I was just calling her "baby Sophie".

Sam LOVED her tractor with wagon. We had a couple meltdowns when he was made to share it with other kids. We have decided that Sam will be a Construction Contractor or some kind of supervisor where he gets to direct people with heavy machines...then he can drive them too but still be the BOSS.

I got to try a slip n slide for the first time! Sam was totally uninterested since he was occupied with the tractor. I was a bit hesitant in trying it out completely, but I was starting to get the hang of it after several runs at it.

Love this conference...Natalie was asking nicely to ride the tractor and Sam was probably saying no. He is getting better at sharing, but this tractor was too much for him! Mommy made him get off so Natalie could have a turn :)

Last Friday we went to the beach with Mommy and Grandma Rikli. We had so much fun. Sam was pretty content to stay near the water's edge while I went out pretty far with Grandma.

It was a beautiful night!

Very happy to be in the water...

Sam loves the sound the rocks make when they fall in the water. He was making that sound here...

Saturday, we made our annual trip to Mt. Olympus but sadly without Uncle Jay and Aunt Amanda this year. It was a chilly lower seventies for the temp, but surprisingly that didn't bother me or Sam!

The indoor waterpark was nice and warm.

Lazy river time!

I got very comfy as you can see!

The outside water was COLD! Sam didn't seem to like the slides outside that much, but he was happy to just play in the water.

I loved the 2 slides in this picture. I went down them probably about 20 times. No one needed to catch me this year!

But...our favorite was the wave pool...Poseidon's Rage. Sam and I would stand in front of Mommy or Daddy and hang on and let the wave crash and move us. We both really, really liked it :)

Sunday, we decided to have a picnic with Grandma Rikli since it was such a nice day and Daddy and Grandpa Rikli were in the woods.

We went back to our picnic park in Marshall...

We also went to a new park in Lake Mills that is way on top of a hill. Mommy tried to get a picture of us with Grandma...yeah, neither of us were cooperating with that!

Beautiful view of the lake...we could see the beach we go to across the water.

Summer is going too fast, and we're having a lot of fun! Mommy better start getting creative with what we are going to do when it gets cold again because we are going to be bored :)
